Registered Nurse (RN-CN1), Ortho Trauma, Full Time, Nights, ONA

Job Summary UC Health is hiring a full‑time Registered Nurse (RN) for the orthopaedic trauma unit on the night shift (7 PM‑7:30 AM) at University of Cincinnati Medical Center. The 28‑bed unit cares for patients admitted from the ER, PACU, and SICU, including trauma survivors, orthopedic patients undergoing joint or spinal surgery, and complex cases involving fractures and infections. Location Cincinnati, OH, United States Responsibilities Prepare, implement, evaluate, revise and coordinate interdisciplinary plans of care for assigned patients in collaboration with the healthcare team and families. Communicate the plan of care to all staff involved, establishing priorities based on patient assessment and needs. Provide clear instructions to patients and families regarding treatment and involve them in assessment, initial treatment, and ongoing care. Identify and respond appropriately to patient needs arising from behavioral health issues, psychological concerns, or cultural and religious norms. Demonstrate critical thinking, accountability, flexibility, and a cooperative attitude in meeting unit needs. Document the nursing process accurately and concisely, evaluating treatment in accordance with hospital policy and procedure. Act as a resource and mentor for new personnel, floaters, and supplemental staff on the unit. Assume responsibility for personal professional development and contribute to the development of peers, colleagues, and others. Qualifications Required: Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited program. Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program. Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio; current BLS/ACLS/PALS per department requirements. Follow additional certification and licensure requirements as specified. Employees working in UCMC Psychiatric Services must obtain NCI‑APS Certification within 90 days of hire. No experience required.
