About Our Facility:

Our primary care division is strategically situated on the main hospital campus. The Florence Medical Center stands as a premier regional acute care institution, featuring 396 patient beds, over 1,500 staff members, and nearly 300 physicians across various specialties. We offer a comprehensive array of services, including an Emergency Department, heart and vascular care, cancer treatment, minimally invasive orthopedic and general surgery, diagnostics, women's health, and rehabilitation services.

Required Qualifications:

• Board Certified/Board Eligible in Family Medicine

• Unrestricted medical license in South Carolina

• Registration for federal and state-controlled substances

• Proven interest in resident education

• Commitment to compassion, professionalism, and lifelong learning

• Collaborative spirit and dedication to delivering high-quality patient care

Position Highlights:

• Balance responsibilities between educational, administrative, and clinical care

• Act as a mentor, role model, and advisor to residents in the program

• Engage in the selection, orientation, and assessment of residents

• Advocate for family medicine, ideally practicing the full spectrum of ambulatory primary care, with 4-5 weeks annually dedicated to inpatient care

• Assist the Program Director and Associate Program Director in implementing policies and procedures that align with institutional and program standards (e.g., resident clinical hours and learning environment)

• Design and deliver structured educational activities as requested by the Associate Program Director or Program Director

• Engage in resident scholarship, aiming for one scholarly project each year
