Job Title: Personal Care Aide (PCA) Location: North Canton, OH Employer: North Canton Nursing & Rehab Join a Team Dedicated to Exceptional Resident Care North Canton Nursing & Rehab is seeking compassionate, dedicated, and dependable Personal Care Aides (PCAs) to join our clinical team. This role is ideal for caregivers passionate about making a difference in senior living, supporting resident dignity, and delivering high-quality non-medical direct care in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. As a Personal Care Aide, you will serve as a vital support system for our residents and nursing team, assisting with daily routine activities and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable living environment. Key Responsibilities Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, personal hygiene, grooming, and mobility. Assist residents during mealtimes, including setting up tray service and offering encouragement or assistance as needed. Answer resident call lights promptly and route nursing or medical concerns to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) or Registered Nurses (RNs). Assist with resident transfers, ambulation, and repositioning following individual care plans and safety protocols. Keep resident rooms clean, safe, and organized, ensuring fresh linens, water, and necessary supplies are easily accessible. Observe resident condition and behavior daily, reporting changes in physical or emotional well-being to the charge nurse. Engage with residents warmly to build trust, promote social engagement, and support overall emotional health. Assist with transport to facility dining, social activities, or internal therapy appointments. Maintain strict confidentiality regarding resident records and health information (HIPAA compliance). Support evening, weekend, and holiday shift schedules as needed to maintain resident care coverage. Qualifications Required: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 6 months of experience in direct caregiving, home health, personal care, or a related healthcare/senior living environment. Strong interpersonal, active listening, and communication skills. Genuine empathy, patience, and commitment to working with elderly and recovering residents. Ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, and assist with physical care tasks throughout standard shifts. Ability to pass background screening and drug testing requirements. Preferred: Prior experience as a Personal Care Aide, Caregiver, or Home Health Aide in a skilled nursing or long-term care facility. Completion of a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) training program or interest in pursuing STNA certification.
