Required Skills & Experience

2+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, Software Testing, or Firmware Testing\nExperience writing test cases, test plans, and test reports\nHands-on experience with manual testing methodologies\nExperience testing firmware, embedded systems, hardware devices, or IoT products\nStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\nAbility to clearly communicate issues and testing results to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Experience with Linux environments and basic Linux commands\nExperience using Wireshark or similar network analysis tools\nFamiliarity with networking and data communication protocols\nExperience with tools such as Postman and OpenVPN\nExposure to automated testing frameworks\nExperience testing camera systems, AI-enabled devices, or connected hardware products\nExperience with Jira or other defect tracking tools

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a QA Engineer to support testing and quality initiatives for connected IoT devices and firmware-based products. This individual will work closely with software engineers, QA team members, and field operations teams to ensure products are performing reliably and meeting business requirements.\nThe ideal candidate has experience testing embedded systems, firmware, or connected devices and is comfortable creating test cases, documenting results, and troubleshooting issues.\nResponsibilities\nCreate, execute, and maintain manual test cases and test plans\nPerform functional, regression, and firmware testing on IoT devices\nDocument defects, troubleshooting steps, and testing results and communicate findings to engineering teams\nPartner with software engineers, QA team members, and field technicians to identify and resolve product issues\nValidate software and firmware releases prior to deployment\nAssist with root cause analysis and defect tracking through resolution\nSupport the organization's transition from manual testing toward greater test automation\nContribute ideas to improve testing processes and product quality
