Billing Specialist

Detail-oriented and experienced, the full-time Billing Specialist will manage billing and receivables for home safety assessments and modifications, ensuring timely invoicing, payment tracking, and compliance with payer requirements in a remote setting. Key responsibilities Timely submit invoices, track payments, manage denials, and resolve payment discrepancies with payers Monitor unpaid invoices, investigate billing errors, and file appeals as necessary Ensure compliance with documentation requirements and apply accurate billing codes for services rendered Required qualifications 3+ years of experience in ancillary medical and non-medical billing and collections with MCOs and other payer types Deep understanding of Medicaid, Medicare, and dual-eligible billing guidelines and compliance requirements Proficiency with payer portals, clearinghouses, EDI systems, and billing/EHR platforms High attention to detail regarding billing requirements, coding, and documentation compliance Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with internal teams and payer representatives
