Scientist II in Molecular Biology role within the R&D division, focused on developing next-generation sequencing technologies and molecular biology products. The position involves laboratory research, cross-functional collaboration, and product development from concept through commercialization at a global life sciences organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize next-generation sequencing technologies and diagnostic assays
- Conduct hands-on molecular biology experiments and maintain detailed documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to advance product development initiatives
- Perform data analysis and interpret results using statistical tools
- Support project management and quality systems implementation
Requirements
- Advanced degree with no prior experience, or bachelor's degree plus two years of molecular biology laboratory experience
- Strong expertise in nucleic acid isolation, PCR, RT-PCR, and next-generation sequencing methods
- Experience with automated liquid handling systems and high-throughput workflow automation
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks including GMP, GLP, and ISO standards
- Proficiency with data analysis software such as JMP or GraphPad
- Experience working in BSL-2 laboratory environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to laboratory safety protocols
Compensation: $72,600–$85,000 base
