This policy expressly prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex, race, color, religion, creed, national origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, disability, genetic predisposition, gender identity or expression, carrier status, domestic violence victim status, veteran status or status as a member of any other protected group or activity.Description: POSITION: Cafe Attendant DIVISION: The Little Theatre CLASSIFICATION: Casual, Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Cafe Manager HOURS: Wednesdays through Sundays, some weekend availability required, approximately 10-19 hours per week PAY: $16.00 per hour DUTIES:Make coffee/tea using special equipment provided.Assist with food preparation as required.Keep service counters clean and fully stocked.Ensure that all food cabinets are stocked and tidy to deliver full service.Inform assistant manager/manager of low stock levels.Assist in the cleaning and clearing of tables.Use the dishwasher and wash up as necessary.Ensure the food is served to the correct temperature and portion size.Use proper cleaning solutions for the preparation and storage areasEnsure all refuse is removed from the kitchen/café counter and put into the correct recycling bins, as needed.Ensure professional and appropriate appearance, following dress code at all times. Project a professional image to staff, volunteers and customers.Ensure that the correct close down procedure are followed, i.e. everything left clean, tidy and secure, ready for the next day's trade.Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with the café's health, hygiene, quality and safety standards.Serve all food from the counter using correct tools and presentation techniques.Promote customer care through all actions and behaviors.Operate cash register.Other duties as assigned by any manager on duty.Position Requirements: EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma preferred, or GED with one-year restaurant/cafe experience. KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Strong work ethic, ability to work with a team, flexible schedule, and excellent customer service skills needed. Basic computer skills, reliable transportation and great communication skills. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to handle physical activities, stand and walk for long periods of time and lift weight in excess of 50 pounds is essential.This position is currently accepting applications.
