Cardiac SonographerThis 0.0 FTE/Per-Diem-Relief position is scheduled to work a 10-HR day shift as needed and is UFCW represented.Compensation: Non-Exempt, $45.80/HR — $71.82/HR. Placement within this range is based on years of applicable experience.Benefits Include:Mental Health & Wellness Resources – Access to Talkspace and the Calm App.Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid Sick LeaveJob SummaryProduces images of heart muscle and functioning by setting-up ultrasound equipment; attaching electrodes to chest and equipment; operating and adjusting equipment; recording cardiac data and measurements; protecting and helping patients and communicating with the cardiologist when needed.Job Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepares for examinations by checking equipment, inventorying and restocking supplies; reviewing patient schedules; reading physician orders for specific examinations; setting-up recording equipment; entering patient information into the system.Prepares patients by positioning the patient; spreading gels; attaching electrodes to chest and equipment; adjusting equipment controls; verifying wave signals.Obtains quality images by positioning and repositioning the transducer; monitoring the display screen; listening to signals; adjusting equipment for beam strength and focus; detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities; recording images.Records examination information by printing graphics and data; calculating measurements of heart wall, chamber size, and blood flow direction and velocity; comparing measurements to norms.Protects patients by adhering to safety policies and protocols.Have an understanding of and follow the HIPPAA standards.Starts IV's as needed for Contrast injections.Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership to accomplish new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.Other duties as assigned.Required Education and ExperienceAA degree from an associated Ultra sonographer or Echocardiography program.Required Licenses, Certifications and/or RegistrationsBasic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification, or within 180 days of hire.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire.Must obtain certification within 6 months of employment in this position by 1 or both of the following governing bodies:Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) and or an RDCS license from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS).Mason Health practices equal employment opportunity towards all workforce members and applicants for employment.
