About the Position

Job Title: RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 10.5 hours Experience: 2+ years in CVICU or CVRU License: Current RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. - BLS/ACLS Certification - Critical Care Training - 2 years CVICU or CVRU experience - A passion for surgical heart care - High energy, upbeat personality Description: This is a 19-bed mixed unit that operates with a 1:2 or 1:1 ratio depending on patient acuity. Hold-over downgraded patients may have a 1:3 ratio. The unit is staffed with highly trained charge nurses who assist with any issues. An educator will lead your orientation to ensure you are well-prepared. There are 13 day shift RNs and 11 night shift RNs, along with a nurse's aide on all shifts. The unit provides heart surgery to approximately 850 patients annually. Core nurses receive training in critical care, heart care, recovery, and various devices as they progress in their careers. An ECMO team is available for those who need it. Regular procedures include IABP, Impella, and LVAD care. This is a high acuity, friendly unit committed to excellent patient care. The unit utilizes GE monitors and a Cerner EMR system. Ideal candidates are high-energy, friendly nurses who are committed to lifelong learning and possess critical care, cardiac, or recovery skills. Certification in Critical Care, Cardiac Surgery, or Recovery Room care is preferred. Weekly rotation includes working every other weekend. Additional days off may be available within the contract.
