Job Title: Full-Time Food Service Worker

Location: Correctional Facility

Summary: The Part-Time and Full-Time Food Service Workers are responsible for preparing, cooking, and serving meals, as well as maintaining cleanliness and safety in the kitchen. This role demands strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and security protocols while operating within the unique environment. Workers must ensure meal quality, comply with health regulations, and interact professionally with inmates.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to facility guidelines.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment.
• Ensure food safety, proper temperatures, and portion sizes.
• Distribute food promptly and accurately.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
• Follow sanitation guidelines and safety protocols.
• Document food temperatures and portion sizes.
• Interact with inmates in a professional manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service preferred.
• Basic cooking and food prep skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and teamwork skills.

Physical & Other Requirements:

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and conditions, with exposure to loud noises.
• Must pass a background check and comply with security protocols.
• Willingness to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Adherence to dress code: slip resistant shoes, work pants, and company-provided shirts.
