Host/Hostess

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

• Greet and seat guests, presents menus, and inform guest of special menu items.

• Treats guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction.

• Takes names on a waiting list, and accurately quotes wait times.


• Runs the floor plan board.

• Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables.

• Answers phone calls and questions concerning the menu and restaurant.


• Cleans, organizes, and stocks menus at host area.

• Interacts with guests coming in and as they leave, ensure a positive dining experience.

• Maintains restrooms throughout shift.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

• Excellent communication skills (verbally interacts with management, servers, team members and guests)

• Must be able to read, write and determine wait time based on company's procedures.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures

• A willingness to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

• California Food Handlers card is required for all food service employees who prepare, store, and serve food.
