Deaf Organizations Fund (DOF), a nonprofit subsidiary of Communication Service for the Deaf (CSD), strives to uplift the incredible, essential work of deaf organizations and programs nationwide. We envision a future in which deaf communities have access to a wide array of services provided by thriving, well-resourced organizations. To bring this vision closer to reality, DOF provides accessible grants and nonprofit resources for deaf organizations while advocating for increased accessibility in the philanthropic sector. DOF’s Program Coordinator will assist with managing the following programs: our annual Impact Grant, the Training Institute, and the emerging Deaf Nonprofit Hub. In this role, the Program Coordinator will ensure that DOF programs are effectively managed and attaining annual organizational goals. The ideal candidate will excel in coordinating multiple programs, building stakeholder relationships, and keeping abreast of nonprofit industry trends. 

This is a part-time, short-term position with a potential to become a part-time, long-term position in the future.

• Supports DOF’s three programs by managing schedules, resources, and logistics, ensuring all aspects remain aligned with program goals. 
• The Impact Grant provides unrestricted funds to selected grantees annually. The Program Coordinator will oversee grantmaking efforts including the development of application and award materials, supporting the grant review committee, and provision of coaching and technical assistance to selected grantees and deaf organizations.
• The Training Institute provides free accessible training opportunities to strengthen the internal capacity and long-term sustainability of deaf organizations. The Program Coordinator will coordinate the logistics of all bimonthly training sessions, including but not limited to selection of presenters, development of session materials and reports, and managing accommodations.
• The Deaf Nonprofit Hub, slated for public launch in 2027, will offer a space for deaf organization team members to build cross-organizational collaborations on a variety of efforts, such as joint grant proposals or co-hosting events or trainings; address shared operational needs and questions; and provide space for collectively identifying creative solutions to nonprofit issues in an accessible manner. The Program Coordinator will implement, maintain, and moderate the Hub's virtual workspace. 
• Develop and maintain partnerships with grantees, deaf organizations and programs, and relevant stakeholders.  
• Provides oversight and guidance to independent contractors, including developing SOWs and onboarding them.  
• Manage program-based communications and marketing through media relations, social media, emails, and DOF’s website
• Serve as an interdepartmental liaison for any DOF program and service needs.
• Promotes organizational culture by embodying DOF’s mission, vision, and values.  
• Represent DOF to the community at large.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to organize program priorities, ensure accountability toward program goals, and maintain productive working relationships with staff along with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong execution skills, including the ability to manage competing deadlines, coordinate multiple contributors, and keep program activities moving forward.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt messages for different audiences, channels, and accessibility needs.
• Effective problem-solving skills, including identifying workflow barriers, resolving routine issues, and recognizing when escalation is appropriate.
• Ability to work independently and also be collaborative; to take both initiative and direction.  
• Deep understanding of and commitment to deaf communities and DOF's mission. 

Qualifications   

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Administration, Business, Communications, or related field; or equivalent professional experience 
• 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit programs, grant administration, community engagement, program coordination, or related fields.  
• Proven track record of coordinating and executing deliverables for diverse projects or programs. 
• Ability to communicate effectively using American Sign Language and written English (REQUIRED) 

Work Environment / Physical Requirements  

This position is largely self-directed and requires understanding and compliance with company policies, procedures, and values. The position works in a virtual office environment utilizing a computer and standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required interact collaboratively with the team and stakeholders, and communicate via phone, videophone, or text messaging. The employee may be required to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The position may require travel up to 5%.
