CDR General Services is seeking an experienced Stick Welder to perform structural repairs and fabrication on vessels, barges, and other marine equipment in Port Allen 70767 . The ideal candidate will have hands-on shipyard, barge, or dry dock experience and be comfortable working outdoors, in confined spaces, at heights, and around water.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform STICK welding (SMAW) on carbon steel and other materials in flat, vertical, overhead, and horizontal positions.
• Fabricate and repair structural components, including hulls, decks, frames, and bulkheads.
• Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and job specifications.
• Prepare and clean surfaces using grinders, torches, and other tools.
• Perform visual inspections to ensure welds meet quality and marine standards.
• Work safely at heights, over water, and in confined spaces as required.
• Maintain welding tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow OSHA, company, and shipyard safety protocols.

Qualifications:

• Previous Stick Welding/SMAW experience required.
• Marine, shipyard, barge, or structural welding experience preferred.
• Ability to weld in multiple positions.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols.
• Experience using grinders, torches, and other fabrication tools.
• Ability to work outdoors and in physically demanding environments.
• Must be safety-conscious and reliable.
