Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans, including nursing diagnosis, care objectives, and defined interventions for post-anesthesia patients
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions to the appropriate healthcare team member; recognize adverse signs and symptoms and quickly react in emergency situations
• Administer medications, wound care, and other personalized interventions; maintain IV therapy competency including care for central lines
• Prepare patients for and assist with exams; explain procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions to patients and family members
• Document patient care services accurately by charting in patient and department records using EPIC EMR
• Float within scope as needed and provide appropriate supervision and delegation of duties to unlicensed assistive personnel and ancillary staff

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of PACU experience
• Flu vaccination required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; exemptions must be client approved
• Scrub color: Black

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC EMR
• Familiarity with Joint Commission standards, National Patient Safety Goals, and accreditation requirements
• Experience in a high-acuity or trauma-level facility
