Job Description
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering radiation treatments as prescribed by radiation oncologists. This role involves accurately positioning patients for treatment sessions, operating radiation therapy equipment, and monitoring patients during treatment for any reactions or complications. Detailed treatment records must be maintained, and all radiation safety protocols followed. The Radiation Therapist will also be responsible for calibrating and maintaining radiation therapy equipment and collaborating with oncologists and other healthcare professionals.
Responsibilities
- Administer radiation treatments as prescribed by radiation oncologists.
- Position patients accurately for treatment sessions.
- Operate radiation therapy equipment efficiently.
- Monitor patients during treatment for reactions or complications.
- Maintain detailed treatment records and documentation.
- Ensure radiation safety protocols are followed.
- Calibrate and maintain radiation therapy equipment.
- Collaborate with oncologists and other healthcare professionals.
Required Experience
A minimum of 2 years of radiation experience is required.
Certifications / Licensure
ASRT certification is required.
Assignment Duration
This is a 13-week contract position.
