Sales Development Specialist

A Sales Development Representative is responsible for engaging inbound and outbound prospects, qualifying opportunities, and identifying potential business for Univar Solutions.  This role serves as the first step in the sales process by qualifying the prospect and uncovering additional product opportunities.  Qualified opportunities are documented and transitioned to the appropriate sales team for continued development.    

What you´ll do: 

• Develop and qualify new leads by engaging incoming leads driven from marketing campaigns, supplier leads delivered to the team via phone, email and the internet
• Cold-calling and email prospecting efforts within a base of former customers, or lists provided from new marketing efforts aligned with campaigns.
• Research and Scrubs leads for identification of existing customers and route accordingly. Identifies multiple prospect contacts (high, deep and wide) as well as multiple products with purchase potential with new prospects.
• Understands, promotes and supports adaptation of team tools and suggests tool gaps Embraces technical tools for research and logging of interactions Salesforce/Tableau/SAP.
• Maintains accurate Salesforce records while documenting customer needs, opportunities, and next steps to support efficient sales engagement

What you´ll need: 

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• 1-3 years of experience in phone-based lead generation, inside sales and/or business development activities or equivalent experience.
• Ability to prospect and qualify potential customers effectively virtually (email and phone)
• Exceptional communication skills
• Experience with Salesforce and Microsoft Office is strongly desired.
• High level of curiosity with strong Internet Research Skills
• Excellent time management skills required along with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle diverse and significant workload.
