Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Rotating Shifts (Days & Nights, 3x12-Hour Shifts) | 50/50 Day and Night Rotation Scheduled in 4-Week Block Rotations | Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM | Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Weekend requirement applies | Holiday requirement may apply depending on contract period

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intensive and intermediate nursing care to pediatric patients ages 0–18 with medical and surgical diagnoses including respiratory compromise, trauma, post-operative care, and neurology/neurosurgery conditions
• Manage patient ratios of 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 depending on acuity, in a mixed ICU and Stepdown environment within a 28-bed unit
• Support and assist with complex therapies including ventilatory support, cardiac monitoring, ECMO, CRRT, renal dialysis, and peritoneal dialysis
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Patient Care Technicians, Respiratory Therapy, Pediatric Dietitians, and Pediatric Pharmacists
• Float within scope of practice to meet unit needs as required
• Participate in emergency response team assignments as directed, including during hurricane season (June through November)

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of PICU nursing experience
• Active South Carolina RN license or Multi-State/Compact RN license (SC license must be active prior to start)
• Current BLS certification through American Heart Association (AHA)
• Current PALS certification through American Heart Association (AHA)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records system

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation)
• Experience with CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy)
