Responsibilities

• Oversee a purchasing team consisting of two buyers.
• Research and compare suppliers, goods, and services.
• Select suppliers based on reliability, product quality, and cost efficiency.
• Monitor inventory levels and business requirements to determine purchase needs.
• Request cost proposals and negotiate contracts and prices.
• Prepare and process purchase orders.
• Maintain records of all transactions, purchase orders, receipts, and payments.
• Schedule and verify purchase deliveries and expedite delayed orders.
• Build and maintain positive, long-term supplier relationships.
• Resolve issues related to shipments, inventory returns, replacements, and credit arrangements.
• Work independently within established procedures associated with the job function.

Essential Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Degree in business administration, procurement, or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience as a purchasing manager or purchasing agent.
• Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and inventory management software programs.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience working with large bill of materials (BOMs) of 1000+ items.

Work Environment

The position requires working 100% in-office with a schedule of four 10-hour days from 7 am to 5:30 pm, including a 30-minute lunch. The work involves managing large bills of materials (BOMs) with over 1000 items. Friday's off

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Louis, MO.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
