Staff Accountant - Public Accounting

Location: Greensburg, PA (Onsite) Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant with public accounting experience to join a growing accounting firm. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with a diverse client base, supporting accounting, financial reporting, and tax preparation functions in a collaborative and professional environment.
Key Responsibilities

Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records

Prepare and post journal entries

Convert client accounting data into trial balances

Assist with the preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements

Prepare a variety of tax returns, including:

Individual (1040)

Partnership (1065)

Corporate (1120)

Support clients with bookkeeping, account reconciliations, and general accounting questions

Communicate directly with clients and provide exceptional service

Qualifications

2-5 years of public accounting experience required

Previous experience working in a public accounting firm

Proficiency with QuickBooks

Strong understanding of the accounting cycle through trial balance and financial reporting

Experience preparing multiple types of tax returns (1040, 1065, and 1120)

CPA designation not required

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:30 PM

Busy season (January-April) may require additional hours

Pay Details: $25.00 to $36.00 per hour
