IMMEDIATE HIRE FOR LINE COOKS, MORNING OR NIGHT SHIFT, PART-TIME OR FULL-TIME, NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, TRAINING AVAILABLE.
We are seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team at Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant. Our restaurant prides itself on delivering exceptional dining experiences through quality food and outstanding service. We offer competitive compensation ranging from $16 to $20 per hour, plus tips, based on experience. Both part-time and full-time positions are available, with shifts in the morning and evening.
Line Cook Pay Grades (Plus approximately $2 to $4 per hour in tips, depending on sales and shifts worked, higher tips on weekend shifts)
Cook III - Trainee through ability to work 1 station expertly $16 - $18/hr.
Cook II - Ability to work 2-3 stations expertly $17 - $19/hr.
Cook I - Ability to work 4 stations expertly $18 - $20/hr.
About the Role:
As a Line Cook at Gyotaku King Street, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality Japanese cuisine to our guests by preparing and cooking dishes according to our established recipes and standards. Your work will directly impact the dining experience, ensuring that every plate leaving the kitchen meets our expectations for taste, presentation, and timeliness. You will collaborate closely with the kitchen team to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace while adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure during busy service hours, and a passion for culinary excellence. Ultimately, your contribution will help uphold Gyotaku King Street’s reputation as a premier destination for authentic and innovative Japanese dining in the United States.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience working as a line cook or in a similar kitchen role a plus but not required.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with Gyotaku Japanese Restaurant's recipes and quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen workstations throughout the shift.
- Ensure all food is stored, handled, and prepared following food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to manage food inventory and minimize waste.
- Assist in receiving and inspecting deliveries to ensure ingredient quality and freshness.
- Support the kitchen team during peak hours by efficiently managing multiple orders simultaneously.
- Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure timely and accurate order delivery.
