Warehouse Worker - Food Product Processing Facility
Job Description

The Warehouse Worker supports warehouse operations by receiving, storing, moving, and delivering materials within a food processing environment. This role is responsible for inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving activities, material handling, and maintaining an organized warehouse while utilizing equipment and warehouse software systems.
Shift Available

6:00 AM - 2:30 PM (Monday-Friday)
Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials and supplies in designated warehouse locations.
• Load, unload, transport, and stage materials using forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and other approved equipment.
• Deliver inventory, supplies, and equipment to internal departments as needed.
• Coordinate material transfers to ensure accurate and timely movement of inventory.
• Complete shipping and receiving activities, including data entry, recordkeeping, and inventory transactions using warehouse software.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through proper storage, handling, and tracking of materials.
• Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, secure, and compliant with company procedures.
• Follow established safety policies, standard operating procedures, and warehouse protocols.
• Support operational improvements by adapting to new processes and providing feedback when appropriate.

Essential Skills

• Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies, and other material handling equipment.
• Experience with core warehouse functions, including inventory control, shipping, receiving, loading, and unloading.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to perform accurate data entry and learn warehouse management systems.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multiple departments.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions, procedures, and safety requirements.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical warehouse tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to sit for periods of time while operating equipment or completing computer-based tasks.
• Ability to work in a food processing environment with exposure to strong odors from chemicals and flavorings.
• Adaptable, dependable, and willing to learn new processes and responsibilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous warehouse, shipping, or receiving experience.
• Previous food manufacturing or food processing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with inventory control practices and cycle counting.
• Experience using warehouse software or computer-based inventory systems.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Work Environment

This position is based in a food processing warehouse with approximately 43 employees, including about 20 production staff. The facility may become warm during summer months and includes exposure to noticeable odors from chemicals and flavorings. Work involves a combination of physical labor and computer-based tasks, including lifting, moving, loading, and unloading materials, operating material handling equipment, and completing inventory and shipping documentation. The company maintains a strong focus on workplace safety, organization, and operational efficiency.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of El Cajon, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
