Sr. Financial Analyst (HYBRID)

Senior Financial Analyst – Signet Diamond Sourcing (SDS) Report to: Senior Manager, SDS Finance. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS) accuracy, and overall financial performance. Key Responsibilities Analyze and report on inventory balances, reserves, gross margin, and COGS, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities. Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc financial reports to support management decision‑making. Assist with month‑end close activities: journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis for inventory and COGS. Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, providing insights into operational and financial performance. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to enhance visibility into financial and operational results. Ensure accuracy of physical inventory through collaboration with operations and resolution of discrepancies. Analyze inventory transactions, roll‑forwards, cost variances, and obsolescence reserves. Partner with supply chain and operations to ensure accurate COGS reporting and inventory valuation. Provide insights on inventory turnover, shrinkage, and operational inefficiencies, recommending improvement actions. Manage pricing and costing data infrastructure, maintaining pricing grids and integrating data sources for the Sourcing Costing team. Develop advanced SQL queries and data pipelines to consolidate datasets from multiple systems for scalable, reliable analysis. Deliver data‑driven insights by building analytical models, improving automation and standardization. Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial procedures and enhance data accuracy. Act as a trusted business partner to supply chain, operations, and accounting, offering financial insights and recommendations. Coordinate with internal and external auditors, preparing required documentation and ensuring SOX compliance. Collaborate with IT and ERP teams to optimize systems for financial and inventory reporting. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics. 3–5 years of financial analysis and accounting experience, preferably in inventory, COGS or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus. Experience in retail, wholesale or e‑commerce environments preferred. Strong knowledge of USGAAP with focus on inventory and COGS accounting. Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial reporting tools. Advanced analytical skills, with ability to interpret complex data and recommend actions. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with visualization/analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx or PowerBI. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting findings to senior stakeholders. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting. Ability to build relationships across departments and collaborate toward shared goals. Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
