We are a certified B Corp, headquartered in Seattle, WA. The Job As a Senior Systems Administrator at Omnidian, you will be a technical force multiplier during a period of rapid global expansion. You are a self‑directed architect who thrives in high‑growth environments, enjoys owning and improving systems, proactively leveraging modern AI tools to automate complex workflows and engineer resilient infrastructure. You will spend 60% of your time leading high‑impact IT projects, 20% on proactive security remediation, and 20% providing Level 2+ support for our global, asynchronous workforce across the US, Australia, and Latin America. This role is primarily focused on project‑based work and owning infrastructure improvements, with limited reactive support responsibilities. Here is an outline of some of the things you’ll be doing: Project Leadership & Mentorship High‑Stakes Execution : Lead the implementation and lifecycle management of high‑stake infrastructure projects (IDP, MDM, ITAM) from conception to full completion. Technical Mentorship : Serve as a senior technical escalation point and mentor junior IT staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Architectural Oversight : Contribute to architectural decisions for SharePoint Online, ensuring site designs meet the specific data‑governance needs of Finance and Legal while maintaining audit readiness. Global Infrastructure Scaling : Own, support, and implement infrastructure solutions to meet sudden demand spikes, particularly during international expansion, Mergers & Acquisitions, and the onboarding of offshore staff. Security & Compliance Vulnerability Remediation : Partner with the Information Security Team and senior IT staff to swiftly execute tasks required to remediate security findings and vulnerabilities within SOC2 and ISO frameworks. DR & BCP Support : Support and contribute to the development and testing of Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity Plans, primarily managed by the Information Security Team. Technical Standards : Establish and maintain technical designs and configuration baselines for all managed workstations, ensuring no “configuration drift” occurs across the global fleet. Advanced Support & Operations L2+ Technical Escalation : Provide high‑level engineering support for complex hardware and software issues for a remote global team that exceed standard specialist capabilities. Observability & Monitoring : Design and maintain monitoring and observability frameworks to proactively track global system health and maintain high situational awareness. Vendor & Roadmap Alignment : Interact with key SaaS and infrastructure vendors to understand product roadmaps and articulate complex technical requirements for internal projects. Cloud Application Management : Provide deep technical management for the global cloud stack, including Google Workspace, GCP, Endpoint Detection & Response, and CRM solutions. Operational Excellence & AI Integration ITIL Service Delivery : Operate within the ITIL framework for all service delivery, following a disciplined approach to incident, request, and change management. Change Management : Maintain a rigorous focus on proper Change Management procedures; demonstrate a deep understanding of the downstream impact of infrastructure changes before execution to ensure minimal business disruption. AI‑Augmented Engineering : Proactively leverage AI tools including Gemini and Claude AI to validate administrative scripts, synthesize technical data, and rapidly develop Standard Operating Procedures. Knowledge Management : Act as a lead contributor to the team Knowledge Base, ensuring that project‑level architectural decisions and troubleshooting workflows are documented as “living” resources. Who You Are High‑Stakes Project Leader : You have a proven track record of driving complex infrastructure projects to successful completion under pressure. Independent Critical Thinker : You bring the situational awareness to understand the downstream effects of technical decisions and act swiftly to prevent small issues from becoming global incidents. Autonomous Architect : You don't just follow a roadmap; you help build it by identifying infrastructure gaps and proposing technical solutions with a bias for action. AI‑Augmented Mindset : You proactively use AI tools like Gemini and Claude AI to increase your speed‑to‑solution for troubleshooting, process development, and documentation. Global Communicator : You are comfortable working across time zones and possess the articulate communication skills required to lead cross‑functional projects. Experience You’ll Need Proven Project Leadership : Demonstrated experience leading high‑stake IT infrastructure projects from initiation to full delivery and documentation. Professional Experience : 4+ years in systems administration or infrastructure engineering in a high‑growth environment. Certifications : ITIL 4 Foundation is required. Project management certification/experience is a plus. Expert Scripting : Expert‑level proficiency in PowerShell and Python is mandatory for automating user lifecycles and bridging data gaps between systems. Technical Mastery : Strong experience with cloud and endpoint management tools (Google Workspace, Azure, MDM platforms, SharePoint). AI Literacy : Demonstrated experience leveraging AI platforms to accelerate troubleshooting, automation, and documentation. Experience That’s a Plus Strategic Roadmapping : Contributing to 1–3 year IT infrastructure roadmaps that align with global business objectives. Financial Acumen : Familiarity with managing IT department budgets, including OpEx/CapEx forecasting and SaaS spend optimization. Compliance Leadership : Leading technical readiness for SOC2 or ISO audits and developing internal control frameworks. Stakeholder Management : Experience presenting technical project updates and infrastructure risks to non‑technical executive leadership. Success Metrics Project Velocity : Majority of assigned project roadmaps are completed on schedule. Security Posture : 100% of critical and high security findings remediated within the defined compliance window. Automation ROI : Successfully reduce manual onboarding/offboarding hours by 40% within the first 6 months through automation. Onboarding Scalability : Successfully automate the technical onboarding process to handle rapid headcount spikes without manual intervention. Logistics Role starts by mid‑June.
