Movement Is Medicine Physical Therapy & Sports Performance is a cash-based physical therapy and sports performance clinic in Norfolk, VA. We specialize in helping active adults and athletes overcome pain, improve performance, and stay active through individualized, one-on-one care.

Our clinic combines physical therapy, strength training, sports performance, and therapeutic massage in a modern facility equipped with a full gym, weights, and turf. We take a movement-focused approach to healthcare, prioritizing quality care, strong patient relationships, and long-term results.

We're looking for a motivated, personable, and skilled Licensed Massage Therapist to join our growing team and help us deliver an exceptional client experience.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Massage Therapist who is passionate about helping people move and feel better. The ideal candidate has an interest in orthopedic, therapeutic, and sports massage and enjoys working with active individuals, athletes, and people dealing with musculoskeletal pain or movement limitations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, one-on-one therapeutic massage sessions tailored to each client's needs and goals.
• Perform therapeutic, deep tissue, sports, and recovery-focused massage techniques as appropriate to your training and scope of practice.
• Work with clients experiencing muscle tightness, mobility restrictions, exercise-related soreness, and general musculoskeletal discomfort.
• Collaborate with physical therapists to support clients' recovery, mobility, and performance goals.
• Develop strong relationships with clients and deliver an exceptional, welcoming experience.
• Educate clients on general recovery strategies, self-care, and ways to support their treatment goals within your scope of practice.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and professional client documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and professional treatment environment.
• Communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure continuity of care.
• Contribute to a positive team culture and the continued growth of the practice.

Qualifications

• Active Virginia Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) license in good standing.
• Experience in therapeutic, deep tissue, orthopedic, or sports massage preferred.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, soft tissue, and musculoskeletal function.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Passion for helping active adults and athletes achieve their health and performance goals.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
• Professional, dependable, and client-focused attitude.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a physical therapy, sports medicine, chiropractic, or performance-based setting.
• Experience working with athletes, runners, weightlifters, or other active populations.
• Additional certifications or continuing education in orthopedic or sports massage.
