Help Individuals Build A Path To Recovery

With Valley's Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, the Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC) provides recovery-focused treatment and support to individuals living with severe mental illness and co-occurring substance use disorders. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the SUDC delivers individual and group counseling, teaches behavior change and coping skills, and helps clients work toward long-term recovery, stability, and improved quality of life through community-based services.

Pay: Range starts at $23.50/hour (pay is calculated based on years of licensed experience)

Schedule : Monday – Friday | 9:00am – 5:00pm

Summary and Deliverables

The Substance Use Disorder Counselor (SUDC) works with clients individually and in group settings and teaches skills on behavior modification with the goal of full recovery.

Essential Functions

• Manages caseload including care plan and ASAM management
• Teaches groups and individual sessions utilizing evidence-based practices and behavior modification with the intention of full sobriety
• Collaborates with a team of multi-disciplinary mental health professionals
• Mentors clients who are in an intensive residential treatment program for substance abuse and mental health disorders
• Provides positive role-modeling and teaches social/behavioral skills
• Tracks and maintains client data

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in social work

Licenses/Certifications

• SUDC license in state of practice
• CPR certification (Post hire)
• Valley de-escalation certification (Post hire)
