Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Neuro Med/Surg night shift position in Nashville, TN, requiring at least 2 years of Med/Surg experience and an active TN or compact RN license.

Details

• Located in Nashville, TN at an ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center certified facility
• 20-bed Neuro Med/Surg unit (3rd floor)
• Patient ratio of 6:1
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Two weekends (4 shifts) required per 4-week schedule
• Tech support available on both day and night shifts; unit secretary available 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Equipment includes IV pumps, telemetry, SCDs, continuous pulse oximetry machines, feeding pumps, PCA, EKG machines, bladder scanner, and iMobile communication technology
• Documentation via Meditech
• Travelers are first to float and rotate when multiple contract staff are scheduled

Requirements

• Active RN license — TN state license or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification (AHA or ARC accepted; must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg RN experience
• Proficiency with IV insertion, basic wound care, surgical drain maintenance, nasogastric tubes, and chest tubes
• US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
• One professional reference required (two required if licensed in Florida or Missouri)
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

• Deliver attentive, compassionate care with an emphasis on bedside shift report and family-inclusive care planning
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Navy scrub tops and bottoms required
