But behind every great bartender is someone making sure they have everything they need to be great. That's the Barback. At Lucky's Iron Door Roadhouse, our Barbacks are the engine behind the bar. They're stocking, cleaning, anticipating, communicating, moving, and solving problems before most people even realize there was a problem. When the bar is packed and everything is running smoothly, there's probably a great Barback somewhere behind it making that happen. We're looking for smart, driven, responsible people who aren't afraid of hard work, move with purpose, pay attention to what's happening around them, and take pride in being the person their team can depend on. No previous restaurant or bar experience is required. We'll train the right person. This position pays hourly plus tips , with full-time and part-time opportunities available. And for the right person, this position can become a pathway to training behind the bar. About Lucky's Iron Door Roadhouse Lucky's Iron Door Roadhouse opened in Jordan Landing in 2019 as the second home of the award-winning burgers that began with Lucky 13 in Salt Lake City. We serve brunch, lunch, dinner, handcrafted cocktails, beer, and the burgers our guests have come to know us for. But none of it happens because of one person. Great restaurants are teams. And behind our bar, the Barback is one of the most important members of that team. A great Barback doesn't simply respond to what the bartender needs. They learn to anticipate it. A Day in the Life of a Barback Your job is to keep the bar moving. Ice is getting low. You already noticed. Glassware is disappearing. You're bringing more. A bartender is burning through a particular bottle. You've already grabbed the backup. Guests leave. You're clearing and cleaning. The trash is full. It's handled. The bar gets slammed. You don't wait for someone to tell you what to do. You look around, figure out where you're needed most, and get there. You're stocking. You're cleaning. You're carrying. You're communicating. You're moving. And while much of what you do happens behind the scenes, your work directly affects every guest sitting at the bar. When you're great at this job, bartenders can focus more of their attention on taking care of guests because they know you're taking care of them. That's hospitality too. Who You Are You're someone who works hard even when nobody is watching. You notice things. You don't walk past something that needs to be done. You move with purpose. You're dependable. You can take direction without taking it personally. You don't disappear when things get difficult. When everyone else speeds up, you speed up too. You ask questions. You want to learn. If you eventually want to become a bartender, even better. But first, we want you to become an exceptional Barback. What You'll Do Keep the bar stocked with ice, glassware, beverages, liquor, beer, garnishes, and supplies. Anticipate what bartenders need before they have to ask. Restock products throughout service. Clear and clean glassware and bar areas quickly. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked work areas. Change kegs and assist with other beverage-related tasks. Remove trash and maintain cleanliness throughout the bar. Help prepare the bar before service and reset it after service. Communicate continuously with bartenders, servers, managers, and other team members. Assist with guest needs when appropriate and make sure requests reach the correct person. Jump in wherever needed when the bar gets busy. Learn how a professional, high-volume bar operates from the inside. What We're Looking For No previous bar or restaurant experience is required. It's not automatic. It's earned. And we'll give you the opportunity to earn it. Work Schedule Full-time and part-time positions are available. Day shifts: approximately 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM Night shifts: approximately 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM Availability for nights, weekends, and busy shifts is important.
