Litigation Attorney

A fast-growing Atlanta commercial litigation boutique is seeking an experienced attorney with 7+ years of commercial litigation experience to join its expanding practice. This is an opportunity for a sophisticated litigator who enjoys high-level work but wants greater flexibility, meaningful matter ownership and a substantially reduced billable-hour target compared with traditional Big Law. The successful candidate will serve as a lead attorney on complex business disputes and should be capable of managing matters independently from initial strategy through resolution. About the Role: The attorney will: Manage sophisticated commercial litigation matters from start to finish Serve as the primary day-to-day attorney and timekeeper on assigned cases Develop case strategy, conduct legal analysis and produce high-quality written work Handle pleadings, discovery, depositions, dispositive motions, hearings, mediation, arbitration and trial preparation Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel and other stakeholders Work efficiently and responsively in a fast-moving practice Provide guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys when appropriate Help build the processes and culture of a growing litigation boutique The firm’s matters include: Breach of contract and business tort claims Fraud and misrepresentation Trade secret and restrictive-covenant disputes Breach of fiduciary duty Shareholder, partnership and business-divorce disputes Other complex commercial disputes About You: The ideal candidate will have: Generally 7+ years of substantive commercial litigation experience Big Law training or comparable experience handling sophisticated disputes The judgment and experience to manage cases without constant supervision Excellent research, analytical and legal writing skills Strong execution speed and responsiveness Experience handling complex discovery, depositions and substantive motion practice The ability to prioritize multiple active matters while maintaining excellent work quality A practical, business-oriented approach to litigation and client service The maturity, flexibility and self-awareness required to thrive on a lean team Why Consider? 1,600-hour annual billable target Sophisticated commercial litigation without traditional Big Law hour expectations Direct responsibility for matters and client relationships Meaningful opportunities for depositions, hearings, arbitration and trial Generally no more than three required office days per week for an attorney who can work independently Direct access to firm leadership Opportunity to help shape a rapidly growing practice Potential for expanded compensation and advancement for an attorney who contributes beyond their individual billable work Compensation and Benefits Base compensation expected to be approximately $200,000 - $250,000 + bonuses for exceeding billable requirements.
