Job Summary:
Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This position involves providing specialized post-anesthesia care for pediatric patients (ages 0-17). Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The role involves day shifts, with a schedule of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, minimum 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license; minimum of 1 year of experience in critical care pediatrics, or 2 years preferred; certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Serves primarily pediatric patients (ages 0-17); primarily inpatient but also outpatient; covers most surgical specialties, with the exception of cardiac.
- Patient Ratios: RN to patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity.
- Support within the Department: Transporter, HUC/Receptionist, PACU educator, dedicated charge/manager who does not take patients, anesthesia available 24/7, nurses responsible for telemetry monitoring.
- Technology/Equipment: IV Pump (Alaris), Med dispensing system (Omnicel), Monitors (Philips).
- Orientation (facility and unit): NEO day with the facility, two precepted shifts.
- Additional Information: Candidates must have completed at least one travel assignment prior to consideration. This is an all-hands-on-deck environment, with an open bay unit. Scrubs are provided. Free parking is available.
