Asphalt Plant Operator

Plant OperatorMartin Marietta is currently looking for a Plant Operator for surface operations at the underground mine in Randolph, Missouri. This position is responsible for assisting with plant clean-up and providing support for surface crushing operations. This position will also serve as a back-up to the Plant Operator I by controlling plant equipment and operations in a full-automated/computer-operated rock crushing plant.Location: Martin Marietta's Missouri market is anchored by the Randolph Mine, a major underground limestone operation located in Randolph, Missouri. The facility supplies crushed stone and other aggregate products to contractors, municipalities, and producers across the Kansas City metropolitan area. Strategically positioned with both truck and rail access, the Randolph Mine supports regional infrastructure projects, road construction, and commercial development, making it a cornerstone of Martin Marietta's Missouri Valley District operations.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Participate in safety programs and trainings, promoting Martin Marietta's Guardian Angel cultureOperate skid steer to facilitate plant clean-upTrain and provide back-up for Plant Operator IInspect equipment for signs of wearMonitoring processes, materials and surroundingsTend to equipment such as conveyors to move materials through production processesPerform basic maintenance on heavy mobile equipmentOperate haul truck to assist with plant operationsWork in a team environmentClean work areasProper wear of personal protective equipmentNotify supervisors of repairs neededManage multiple tasks and prioritize production needsQualificationsRequired Education and Experience:High school diploma, GED or equivalent1+ years of related experienceValid US driver's licenseHeavy equipment operations or military experience preferredMS Office and other computer skills preferredSkills:Ability to work with minimal supervisionKnowledge of MSHA regulationsEffective written and verbal communicationKnowledge of machines and tools including their design, use and maintenancePhysical Abilities:Ability to work in an outdoor environment year-roundAbility to work in elevated areasGeneral physical activities include climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, pushing, pulling, stooping, reach with hands and arms, and handling materialAdditional Information:In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined, the successful candidate may be expected to take on other tasks and assignments as required, including but not limited to duties outside the typical scope of the role to support overall team operations and organizational needs.
