About the Position

Job Title: Pediatric Cardiovascular Sonographer Profession: Pediatric Cardiovascular Sonographer Specialty: Pediatric Cardiovascular Sonographer Duration: 8 hours Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with call Experience: Two years experience as a cardiac ultrasound sonographer and/or completion of a one-year certified cardiac ultrasound course is preferred. Two years experience as a vascular sonographer and/or completion of a certified vascular sonographer course is preferred. Two years experience as a pediatric cardiac sonographer and/or completion of a certified pediatric sonography course is preferred. One year experience as a fetal echo sonographer and/or completion of a certified fetal echo sonography course is preferred. License: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Ultrasonographer (RDCS) is required. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) is required. Pediatric Echocardiography (PE) certification is required. Fetal Echocardiography (FE) certification is preferred. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification from an approved vendor is required. Registered Cardiac Sonographer (CCI-RCS) Certification or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) is required. Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or CCI Registered Vascular Specialist (CCI RVS) is required. ARDMS-PE or CCI-RCCS certification is required. AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS certification is required. Description: Assists with cardiovascular and non-invasive studies or treatments. Performs M-Mode with calculations, 2-D procedures with all necessary views and calculations, and Doppler echo with analysis. Demonstrates the ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patient's age-specific needs. Anticipates the needs of the physician and provides awareness of potential patient problems. Performs peripheral vascular procedures including arterial Doppler, venous Doppler, segmental pressures, ankle-arm index, and carotid ultrasound. Performs tilt table exams, treadmills, 24-hour Holters, and pharmacological studies. Keeps up-to-date with the latest advances in cardiovascular techniques and equipment. Precepts new staff members and mentors other staff as needed. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
