Staff Supply Chain Procurement Specialist

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Supply Chain Procurement Specialist based in the United States.

This is a senior-level procurement and supply chain leadership opportunity supporting complex, high-value programs within a highly regulated environment.
The role owns the full procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and proposal evaluation through negotiation, contract execution, supplier management, and closeout.
You will work across engineering, legal, finance, quality, operations, program management, and other functions to deliver compliant and commercially effective outcomes.
The position combines strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, cost and price analysis, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation.
You will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Six Sigma principles and help strengthen supply chain processes and performance.
This role offers the opportunity to work on classified, high-priority programs while influencing suppliers, internal stakeholders, and senior leadership.
The position is fully remote within the United States, follows a 9x80 schedule , and requires approximately 10% travel .

Accountabilities:

• Lead the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, supplier evaluation, negotiation, award, contract execution, administration, performance management, and closeout.
• Source and procure specialized goods and services for complex programs while ensuring commercial, technical, and regulatory requirements are met.
• Develop and manage long-term pricing agreements and other strategic supply chain and contractual documents.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex, high-value agreements, including NDAs, terms and conditions, teaming agreements, and long-term pricing agreements.
• Manage multiple contract types, including firm-fixed-price, cost-plus-fixed-fee, time-and-materials, and other specialized arrangements.
• Prepare bid packages, lead bidder conferences, conduct market research and cost/price analysis, and evaluate and recommend suppliers.
• Develop targeted negotiation strategies to achieve cost savings, improve commercial terms, and reduce supply chain and program risks.
• Monitor supplier performance through quality, cost, schedule, and other key performance indicators, taking corrective action when required.
• Lead Supply Chain Management Teams and coordinate procurement activities across cross-functional stakeholder groups.
• Partner with contracts, legal, engineering, quality, planning, operations, finance, program management, trade compliance, logistics, and end users.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable government contracting requirements, including FAR, DFARS, public-law requirements, ITAR, EAR, NATO contractual requirements, and internal policies.
• Maintain complete, accurate, and audit-ready procurement documentation throughout the contract lifecycle.
• Coordinate import and export activities with trade-compliance and logistics teams.
• Contribute to program risk and opportunity management and identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency, and risk reduction.
• Apply Lean Six Sigma methodologies to improve procurement processes, supplier performance, and overall supply chain effectiveness.
• Build strong, productive relationships with suppliers, customers, internal stakeholders, and senior leaders.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to other supply chain professionals and serve as a subject-matter resource for complex procurement matters.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of related experience , Master’s degree with 10 years, PhD with 8 years, or high school diploma/equivalent with 16 years of relevant experience in subcontracts, purchasing, contracts, project/business management, finance, or a related field.
• Extensive experience executing large, compliant procurements and managing complex supplier relationships.
• Demonstrated experience negotiating complex contractual terms and conditions and managing high-value contracts.
• Strong knowledge of supplier performance management, market research, cost/price analysis, and procurement strategy.
• Working-level knowledge of FAR and DFARS or comparable government contracting and business-law requirements.
• Experience with U.S. government and/or commercial subcontracts, multiple contract types, and specialized payment provisions such as progress- or performance-based payments.
• Experience using CostPoint or SAP ERP along with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex procurement and commercial issues effectively with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, mentor colleagues, influence stakeholders, and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience applying Lean Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies is highly valuable.
• A Master’s degree in government acquisitions, contract management, project management, business management, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
• U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Secret clearance or higher .
• Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly regulated environment involving sensitive and classified programs.
• Approximately 10% travel is required; no relocation assistance is available.

• Base salary: $120,900–$181,300 annually, depending on experience, education, skills, responsibilities, and market conditions.
