Job Description

Make a real impact in the lives of young learners by supporting K-4 students through a Life Skills program in a contract role near Elkhart, IN. This opportunity provides a rewarding environment for a dedicated professional ready to start as soon as possible and continue through May 27th, 2027. You’ll be working full-time, with a schedule of 30+ hours per week across five days, collaborating with a passionate team to create meaningful change.

What you’ll bring:

An active Special Education Teaching License in Indiana
Experience or strong interest in teaching elementary-aged students (K-4)
Commitment to fostering independence and personal growth for students in Life Skills programs
Clear communication and collaboration abilities with both students and colleagues
Strong organizational skills and adaptability in diverse classroom situations

Responsibilities include:

Providing instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEPs)
Developing and modifying curriculum to meet the unique educational and behavioral needs of students
Supporting students’ academic, social, and functional skill development in a Life Skills setting
Partnering with support staff, therapists, and families to promote consistent progress
Maintaining thorough documentation and ongoing communication regarding student growth
Implementing strategies and accommodations for optimal student participation and success
