Qualifications and Experience:

• Current certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with K-12 students preferred
• Strong skills in adapting curriculum and materials for students with visual impairments
• Ability to collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Familiarity with assistive technology for students with visual impairments is highly desirable

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized instruction for students with visual impairments
• Provide direct and consultative support to students, ensuring equal access to curriculum and school activities
• Collaborate with general and special education teams to adapt instructional materials and environments
• Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Offer training and resources to staff and families on best practices and assistive technology
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with families and team members
