Registered Nurse (RN)

This position requires a 12-hour night shift. The typical schedule consists of 36 hours one week and 48 hours the next, along with up to 1 on-call shift per week. Flexibility is essential as shifts may vary, including days, weekends, and holidays. Please note that a maximum of two shift call-offs is allowed, and requests for time off during Thanksgiving and Christmas will not be accepted.

Minimum Experience

Three (3) years of experience in a medical-surgical setting is required, including at least one (1) year of experience with pediatric patients. Candidates must be adept at working with both adult and pediatric demographics.

Certifications/Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Job Description

The Registered Nurse will be assigned to a medical-surgical unit catering to adult geriatrics and pediatric patients. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to maintain excellent staffing ratios, which typically includes 4:1 for non-COVID patients and 2:1 for COVID patients. The unit consists of 20 beds serving both adult and pediatric patients.

Additional Responsibilities

• Assist with Flu Immunization clinics as needed.
• Attend staff meetings regularly.
• Occasionally float to other departments where qualified, which may include taking on patient loads or performing administrative tasks.

Orientation

Orientation for new employees occurs on Mondays only. Candidates must meet compliance deadlines to avoid being rescheduled to the next orientation.

Holiday Coverage

Availability to cover shifts during holidays is required.
