Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A healthcare facility in Norristown, PA is seeking a qualified Staff Pharmacist for a per diem position supporting their long-term care and mail order pharmacy environment. This 8-week contract offers a consistent day shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with every other weekend coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately accept and dispense prescription medications in compliance with legal regulations.
• Monitor patient medication usage to ensure proper compliance and identify any overuse.
• Verify the appropriateness of prescribed medications for patients.
• Maintain confidential and accurate patient records and pharmacy documentation.
• Provide medication counseling to patients, including instructions, potential side effects, and answering questions.
• Offer consultation on prescription and OTC medications regarding storage, dosage, interactions, and side effects.
• Deliver additional patient services like smoking cessation support, blood pressure, and cholesterol management.
• Educate patients on the correct use and handling of medical devices such as glucose meters and blood pressure monitors.
• Compound medications and prepare sterile solutions following established protocols.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians and clerks, to ensure smooth operations.
• Manage pharmaceutical inventory and supplies effectively.
• Identify and communicate drug-related problems to physicians and healthcare providers for patient safety.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Pharmacist in Pennsylvania.
• Prior pharmacy experience required.
• Experience in long-term care and mail order pharmacy settings is highly desirable.

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM
• Every other weekend coverage
