Pay depends on factors including site location, specialty, certifications, work experience, and other business needs.Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Pilates Instructor is responsible for leading safe, effective, and engaging Pilates classes for members while maintaining instructional and educational standards consistent with Active Wellness' commitment to quality.Specific ResponsibilitiesEssential FunctionsDeliver safe Pilates classes to the membersAssist members in using safe and effective form during his/her workoutAdminister emergency care to members and guests in need of assistanceWork as a TEAM with all other departmentsOther duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisorOther FunctionsBe knowledgeable about all programs and activities offered by Active WellnessPromote club services and activitiesPerform routine maintenance of Pilates equipmentAssist with keeping the club well stocked and cleanAttend Active Wellness site meetings and trainingsHandle injury and illness and security incident reportingQualificationsQualifications and Education RequirementsAA degree preferred2 years Group Exercise experience preferred.Experience teaching Pilates Mat highly preferred.Current nationally recognized Group Fitness Certification or specialty class certificate, specialty class license (i.e. Pilates, Zumba®, etc.).Customer service oriented and ability to teachPrevious health club personal training experience is a plus.Must be detail oriented, organized and highly responsive with a commitment to customer serviceStrong verbal communication skillsBasic computer skills, customer service skills, results oriented, ability to multitask, and commitment to the fitness industryAED/CPR/First Aid CertifiedNational Personal Training Certification(s) required (see approved Certification, Licenses and Permits list) as well as modality specific certifications as required by role (if applicable)Proof of citizenship or legal statusPhysical and Working ConditionsAbility to take the responsibility for the health and safety of othersAbility to stand for several hours in a same shift; ability to lift 25 lbsFitness club environmentMust follow OSHA and Active Wellness safety standardsBenefitsHealth, Dental and Vision Insurance (Full Time)Health Flexible Spending Account (Full Time)Paid Time Off (Full Time)Parking & Transit Flexible Spending Accounts401(k) (Eligible after 1 year of service + 1000 work hours)Legal Support PlanEmployee Assistance Program & Mental Health Support ServiceComplimentary Club Membership and Discounts on Active Products (where applicable)This job description is intended to describe the general requirements for the position.
