- Hackensack Meridian Pascack Valley Medical Center is a 128-bed, full-service, acute-care community hospital with a new emergency department, a state-of-the-art maternity center, a women's imaging center, and an ICU.
Learn About a Day in the Life of a PCT:
Responsibilities- A Patient Care Technician work s alongside doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide direct patient care in a variety of healthcare environments.
- The Patient Care Technician plays a vital role in the healthcare delivery setting by improving patient satisfaction and influencing patient throughput.
Job Requirements:
- Prior experience in performing EKG and phlebotomy procedures .
- 6 months in an Acute C are hospital setting.
BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
- Performs EKGs , phlebotomy, and blood g lucose testing.
Preferred Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent .
- Patient care or EKG and phlebotomy certificate.
- Cardiac Credentialing International Certification a plus.
- EKG and Phlebotomy c ertifications /certificates.
Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education, and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.
