Vice President / Executive Director – Design-Build | Texas A nationally ranked heavy civil contractor is seeking an experienced Vice President or Executive Director to lead a major design-build highway and bridge program in Texas. This is a confidential, high-priority executive search for a proven leader who can immediately step into a key position on a complex, high-value infrastructure project already under construction. The position has full executive responsibility for delivering a multi-hundred-million-dollar transportation project. You’ll inherit a strong internal team, take over all senior project leadership duties, and become the main point of contact for the client and project partners. The selected candidate will be empowered to lead day‑to‑day operations, stabilize project execution, and ensure delivery through closeout - while also positioning for long‑term follow‑on work with the contractor. Role Overview: Serve as the senior executive responsible for the complete delivery of a large-scale, active design-build infrastructure project Direct all aspects of construction execution, design coordination, and joint venture alignment Act as the primary interface with the owner and key stakeholders Guide the project through final construction, punch-out, and contract closeout Lead internal teams in schedule adherence, cost forecasting, issue resolution, and risk mitigation Provide calm, experienced leadership in a fast-paced, politically visible environment Support business development and positioning for future work with the client What We’re Looking For: 10+ years of experience in heavy civil infrastructure, with senior leadership on large DOT projects Experience overseeing multiple $250M+ design-build highway/bridge projects - preferably in Texas or similar DOT environments Strong technical and commercial acumen capable of managing schedule, cost, and team dynamics simultaneously Confident, executive-level communicator with client-facing experience Comfortable stepping into an active job with high expectations and limited ramp-up time Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field required #J-18808-Ljbffr CMC Partners
