Senior Platform Engineer (Kubernetes) | Elite Quant Trading Firm | Boston A globally renowned quant trading firm is looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to design and build infrastructure for their next gen investment and research platforms. This firm is an engineering driven organization, renowned for its cutting‑edge systems, high‑performance trading platforms, and large‑scale data infrastructure (their systems handle over 200 billion market data ticks daily across 18+ global markets). Their core leadership and engineering team has been together for decades, originally spinning out of a major Wall Street institution. This role will build the infra for their next gen investment and research platform. This team owns the build across Linux, Kubernetes, containerization, IaC, CI/CD pipelines, and observability systems and are building out cloud native systems on AWS and GCP. The team is a highly collaborative group of scientists, engineers, and traders — their culture is pragmatic and engineering-driven, where the best ideas come from cross-disciplinary exchange. Key Responsibilities: Architect and build the core infrastructure powering next‑generation investment and research platforms Design and operate multi‑cloud, cloud‑native systems across AWS and GCP Partner directly with quantitative researchers and traders to translate cutting‑edge research needs — larger datasets, faster simulations, new ML infrastructure — into platform capabilities Drive the Kubernetes strategy end to end — cluster architecture, multi‑tenancy, autoscaling for bursty research workloads, and hardening for latency‑sensitive production trading services Build golden‑path developer platforms and self‑service tooling that let researchers and traders ship ideas from notebook to production in hours, not weeks Define and infrastructure as code solutions (Terraform/Ansible) and drive everything‑as‑code practices across compute, networking, and security, eliminating snowflake systems Engineer CI/CD pipelines that safely deploy changes to systems where minutes of downtime carry real P&L impact — progressive delivery, automated rollback, and rigorous pre‑production validation Containerize and orchestrate heterogeneous workloads, from GPU‑accelerated model training and backtesting grids to real‑time market data services Skills: Strong expertise with Linux and Kubernetes Experience with Terraform and Ansible (or similar IaC tools) Proficiency in Python or similar programming languages (e.g., Go) Experience with modern development workflows including source control, agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines (ArgoCD ideal) Knowledge of observability tools for distributed systems (e.g., ELK stack, Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana) Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS and Google Cloud #J-18808-Ljbffr Delmar Nord
