Childwatch Counselor
The YMCA of Central Texas is searching for passionate, energetic positive role models to join our team as Childwatch Counselors!
The ideal Childwatch Counselor is a strong communicator and problem solver who is able to engage with children aged 6 weeks to 13 years.
This is a year-round part-time position. Monday-Friday 4:00pm- 8:00pm. Must be flexible to work during school breaks.
We are offering $260 bonus for new staff!
Essential functions:
- Ensure the safety of participants at all times through active supervision while meeting the individual needs of each child in their care
- Model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility at all times
- Be an appropriate, positive role model
Skills/requirements:
- High school diploma/GED preferred
- Must be at least 17 years of age
- Must be able to be on your feet the entire length of your shift and be able to lift up to 40lbs
- Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- 12 months experience working with children preferred
- Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, possess a cooperative attitude, and be a team player
- Be CPR/AED and First Aid certified or willing to be certified within first 30 days of employment
- Must be able to pass reference checks, criminal history background check, Sex Offender Registry check, and pre-employment drug screen prior to hiring
Pay rate: $13.00 to $15.00/hour
