Job Summary The Speech Pathologist will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with speech or language disorders, and formulate individualized treatment programs. Under a physician’s direction, provide direct patient / resident treatment based on established plan of care. Screens and evaluates residents and develops appropriate care plans. Plan, direct, or conduct rehabilitative treatment programs to restore communicative efficiency of individuals with communication and/or swallowing or cognitive problems. Administers, scores, and interprets specialized hearing and speech tests. Instruct residents, families, and caregivers to monitor speech and provide ways to practice new skills. Complete required forms and documents in accordance with company policy and state and/or federal regulations. Maintain patient records in an accurate and timely manner. Devise tools and treatments for the specific needs of patients. Required Skills / Abilities Knowledge and skills to care for patient needs of the SNF population Problem solving skills to successfully perform the job Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Strong customer service orientation Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with other employees, patients, and family members Ability to travel as needed to perform the job Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited Master’s, or Doctorate in Speech Language Pathology State license as a speech pathologist required Proficiency with all applicable state, federal, and professional standards Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer #J-18808-Ljbffr
