Mechanical Assembler I

Job Description
Responsible for the mechanical assembly of electronic instruments, wiring, and cable assembly. This includes reading assembly instructions and drawings to assemble components and electromechanical parts in compliance with quality standards.Performs mechanical and precision mechanicaloptical assemblyReads and interprets schematic drawings, diagrams, specifications and manufacturing orders to determine component requirements and assembly instructionsInspects all parts for cleanliness and conformance to quality standardsIdentifies, reports, and repairs nonconforming itemsCleans, assembles, disassembles, and replaces parts as requiredOperates drill press and hand tools to aid in assemblyReceives parts for each assembly from stock roomSends assembled products to test or to quality assurance for final inspectionReturns all unused parts to stockKeeps manufacturing supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems and progress as related to work assignmentsUpdates production progress and records time using inventory management software for each process of assemblyUses chemicals, adhesives, solvents, lubricants, epoxies, paints and inks, as requiredKeeps manufacturing department clean and free of foreign object damage

Skills Required
1+ year experience performing electronic or mechanical assembly. Able to read bill of material and work orders. Able to use hand tools. Familiar using PC Word, Excel and Outlook.
