Medical Assistant-Certified

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) will provide skilled support to clinicians in an outpatient primary care setting focused on elderly patients aged 62 and above. This role involves performing clinical and administrative duties to facilitate patient care, supporting value-based care goals, and minimizing hospital admissions and emergency department utilization. The position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work full-time with strong reliability and punctuality. Responsibilities:

• Support clinicians by performing clinical tasks within the scope of an MA-C certification.
• Assist in patient care coordination, including communication with outside facilities and physicians.
• Perform administrative duties to ensure efficient clinic workflow.
• Document patient information accurately, preferably using EPIC or similar electronic health records.
• Help manage patient scheduling and follow-up as needed.
• Contribute to a team-based care model aimed at improving outcomes for complex elderly patients.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current and valid Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) license.
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours per week) with consistent attendance and punctuality.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with administrative tasks in a clinical setting.
• Resolved scheduling restrictions such as childcare and transportation prior to start.
• Ability to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience using EPIC electronic health record system.
• Previous experience in outpatient primary care or geriatric care settings.
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills within interdisciplinary care teams.

Special Considerations:

• This position is open only to candidates residing within 50 miles of the clinic.
• Temporary to permanent employment opportunity; candidates must be willing to convert to permanent status.
• No weekend or on-call responsibilities.
• Strict adherence to schedule and attendance is required.

Scheduling:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week.
• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break.
• No weekend or holiday shifts.
