Assistant Vice President, Plumbing Design Engineer - Buildings

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for an Assistant Vice President, Plumbing Engineer to join our growing Property & Buildings team in Houston, Texas. Your Impact * Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the design and delivery of plumbing systems across building and infrastructure projects * Lead multi-disciplinary project teams in the planning, design, and coordination of plumbing, fire protection, and fluid flow systems * Oversee and perform engineering review of design documents, specifications, and construction deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards * Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring high-quality and timely execution * Support and drive business development efforts, including client relationship management, proposal development, and identifying new opportunities * Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning * Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver integrated design solutions across sectors such as commercial, healthcare, higher education, and mission-critical facilities * Ensure adherence to WSP’s quality, safety, and compliance standards, including local, state, and federal regulations Who You Are Required Qualifications * Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience) * 10+ years of relevant post-education experience in plumbing for building systems engineering * Professional Engineer (PE) license desired but not required (multi-state preferred) * Strong knowledge of plumbing system design, including domestic water, sanitary waste and vent, stormwater, lab gases, and specialty systems * Proven experience leading projects and working across multi-disciplinary teams * Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and support business development activities

• Strong understanding of applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards
• Experience with design tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM platforms

Compensation: Expected Salary: $134,700 - $200,100 WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position within the state of Colorado, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
