Certified Nurse Midwife

Job Summary Sun River Health provides comprehensive primary, behavioral and preventative health services to all, regardless of insurance status. We are seeking a full‑time Certified Midwife at our Peekskill site to collaborate with physicians, plan, evaluate, and deliver health care, emphasize preventive measures, and educate patients. The midwife will handle high‑risk patients, deliveries, and other duties as assigned. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Takes histories, performs physical examinations, prescribes treatment and medication for conditions in scope of specialty. Provides on‑call and hospital coverage for Health Center patients when contractually obligated. Performs deliveries according to midwifery protocols and practice privileges. Designs and participates in quality assurance activities, including medical record review, performance audits, outcome audits and focused reviews. Provides supervision for nursing personnel in the department, including protocol review, telephone triage and follow‑up procedures. Coordinates test, referrals and care of patients outside the Health Center. Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening, and participates in the development of programs to achieve these standards. Follows OSHA infection‑control standards under CDC guidelines. Provides accurate, legible documentation of care. Meets annual CME requirements. Follows established protocols and applies evidence‑based research. Demonstrates safe, successful performance including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards. Minimum Educational Requirements Master’s degree with certification by the American College of Nurse Midwifery to practice in New York State. Minimum Work‑Related Experience One year. Compensation Full‑time salary: $161,886.40– $167,793.60 per year.
