Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Position: NP/PA -Trauma Surgery Specialty: Trauma Surgery Schedule: 12-hour shifts (7 AM 7 PM or 7 PM 7 AM) Start Date: ASAP End Date: October 2026 Credentialing Time: 30 days Job Details: Practice Setting: Hospital-based Documentation System/EMR: Cerner Trauma Level/Designation: Level II 12-hour shifts (7 AM 7 PM or 7 PM 7 AM) Coverage includes trauma alerts, inpatient care, OR, and rounding No formal call required, though call ratio may vary Required Procedures/Responsibilities: Trauma alerts and surgical consultations Admitting, rounding, and OR support for Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Facilitating discharges, ER admissions, and house codes/rapid response team Insertion of: Ventilation management, Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, PICC Line Minor laceration suturing Non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP) Supervision: Supervising physician present in-house 24/7 APP will not work autonomously Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: temps have been approved- 30 days average Travel Reimbursement: Mileage only (provider must be local) Submission Requirements: Updated CV NP or PA with RNFA (if NP) Active New Jersey State License BLS, ACLS, and ATLS or ATCN Certifications Experience in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery Proficiency in Trauma Alerts, OR Support, Inpatient Rounding, and ER Admissions Experience with Ventilation Management, Chest Tube, Central Line, Arterial Line, PICC Line, Non-Invasive Vent Management (BiPAP/CPAP), and Minor Laceration Suturing Experience Responding to ED for Trauma Alerts and Surgical Consultations Supervising Physician Present 24/7; APP Will Not Work Autonomously Experience with Cerner EMR Self-Query NPDB (should be pulled within 30 days)
