Cybersecurity Support Specialist

Salary: $49,920 - 60,320 per year Requirements:

• We require a high school diploma or equivalent; technical education or college coursework in IT or cybersecurity is preferred.
• We are looking for a basic understanding of cybersecurity and information technology concepts.
• We expect familiarity with Windows computers and common business applications.
• We need a basic grasp of networks, user accounts, endpoints, and access controls.
• We value understanding of common cyber threats such as phishing, malware, ransomware, and compromised credentials.
• We need strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• We require strong attention to detail.
• We expect the ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
• We need good written and verbal communication skills.
• We require the ability to handle confidential information appropriately.
• We expect the ability to prioritize tasks and follow established security procedures.
• Previous IT support, help desk, security operations, or cybersecurity experience is preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Azure, or Microsoft Entra ID is preferred.
• Knowledge of endpoint detection and response technologies is preferred.
• Familiarity with MFA, VPNs, firewalls, and access-control concepts is preferred.
• A basic understanding of vulnerability management and incident response is beneficial.
• Familiarity with security or compliance frameworks is beneficial.
• CompTIA Security+, Network+, Microsoft, or similar certifications are a plus.

• We monitor and review cybersecurity alerts and security events.
• We assist with investigating and documenting potential security incidents.
• We support endpoint security and threat-protection systems.
• We help administer user access and identity-security controls.
• We identify suspicious activity, phishing attempts, compromised accounts, and endpoint threats.
• We support Microsoft 365 security settings and account protection.
• We assist with vulnerability assessments and remediation efforts.
• We follow established incident-response and escalation procedures.
• We review and document security-related support tickets.
• We assist with multi-factor authentication and access-control issues.
• We support security updates, patches, and endpoint configurations.
• We help maintain accurate security and technical documentation.
• We assist with backup and recovery verification activities.
• We support cybersecurity awareness and phishing-prevention initiatives.
• We escalate complex security incidents to senior engineers or security personnel.
• We follow company procedures for protecting confidential client and business information.
