Banking Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: Performs the role of operators and reviewers, performs the processing of Incoming and Outgoing wire transfers, which include Fed wires and SWIFT messages. Conducts and fulfills research requests. Works with the Assistant Operations Officer/Operations Manager to conduct reviews such as OFAC check and ensure the accuracy of each wire transaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Area #1 (60%) Implement the operation of daily Incoming and/or Outgoing wire transfers, return wires. Includes wire entry, branch/department reconciliation. Includes conducting OFAC review and referring high risk/fraudulent activity for further review Area #2 (20%) Fulfilling record research, filing documents and record retention Area #3 (10%) Assist in large dollar verifications for accuracy Area #4 (10%) Assist in handling all inquiries and wire investigations OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES: Successfully complete all mandatory training on related Bank and BSA compliance as well as other laws and regulations as assigned in a timely manner. Perform all assigned duties under Bank’s compliance programs and related laws & regulations. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Experience and Skills Required: High School diploma or equivalent with anticipation of continuing education towards degree Wire transfer knowledge and basic PC skills 3+ years of wire transfer experience, preferably in a banking environment Must be able to type 40+ wpm, work efficiently and accurately while meeting established deadlines. Good communication, telephone, and interpersonal skills Fluent in English and Chinese (mandarin preferred) a major plus. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Minimum mobility to work in an office setting; sit for prolonged period of times; operate office equipment including use of a computer keyboard; and reach with hands and arms. Employees are occasionally required to walk and stand and lift and move records and documents weighing 30 pounds or less. COMMUNICATION DEMANDS: Attention to detail, strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, self-motivated, and analytical skills, ability to interact with all levels of management and staff. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Standard office environment. Noise level in work environment is usually average. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. COMPENSATION The base pay range for this position is USD $21/Hr. - USD $29/Hr plus full benefits.
