Emergency Medicine Physician

Emergency Medicine physician employment in Florida. EM residency training only requirement. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM). Ability to obtain/maintain medical license in Florida. ACLS, PALS (not currently required if boarded). Overview Due to growth and expansion, the Emergency Medicine group is adding physicians. Physicians rotate between two community sites with annual volumes of 20,000–65,000. Main ED: 30–50 beds; Freestanding: 16–25 beds. Average patients per hour expected is 1.5–2. Epic EMR with PACS, Dragon, and AI scribe. Coverage model 70% physician / 30% APC. Supported by a HUC, unit secretary, and technicians for splints/IVs. Specialists at hospitals include surgery, anesthesia, OBGYN, and some IR. Main site has neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, EP, and ophthalmology. Role 9–10 hour shifts; some 12‑hour shifts. Independent contractor model. Physicians average 120–160 hours/month. Weekend/holiday/night participation expected. Procedures Endotracheal intubation – direct & video laryngoscopy Cricothyroidotomy Chest tube placement Central lines IO placement Pericardiocentesis Needle thoracotomy Vaginal deliveries Laceration repairs I&D Foreign body removal Full eye exam POCUS/FAST exam Procedural sedation Productivity Expectations Productivity: 1.6–2.6 patients per hour. 1099 package: $240/hr AM, $250/hr Mid, $270/hr Night + bonus. Earn up to $320/hr. Productivity RVU bonus paid quarterly. Sign‑on bonus. Malpractice with tail coverage.
